At one point I landed on Nick News. ...something I haven't watched in years. ....It's just for kids right?

Well,...possibly, but darn it I'm learning things from it.

It seems I stumbled upon a 15 year anniversery special. the first part I caught was a gathering of kids, some with gay parents, and they well intelligently discussing the issue of gay parents. ....and it was awe inspiring. ...In some cases because of how narrow minded and homophobic some of these kids are, but also how smart and open minded and articulate others were. And I was so impressed that Nick would take on such a taboo subject.

They moved from discrimination of gays to the discrimination of Jews and discussed the Holocost. AND after that they brought up the Sudan. ....Seriously! Nick News Brought of Darfur! Main stream news channels don't being up Darfur ...and a kids news program brought it up? I am seriously impressed with this program.

I'm currently watching/listening to a special on Intellient Design. It is really quite interesting. It includes an interview, or rather a statement by the man to 'created' intelligent design. hearing the bullshit that comes out of this man's mouth is mind boggling. ....We know that machines (example, Cars) were designed, and we are more complex than a machine, there for we were designed....seriously, that's a logical conclusion? (where's that sarcasm font when you need it.)

But, seriously! This program has balls! I am extremely impressed! We need more programs like this! This that teach our children to me open minded and informed about the world around them. To pay attention to politics, to ask questions. To seek multiple sides of a debate. (...Holy Shit! They even had Cornel West on an episode!!!)

I guess this gives me hope that the kids today might not grow up to be mindless drones who think that George Bush is doing the right thing and we should trust him.

Our Founding Fathers would be rolling over in their graves if they heard someone say Trust the President. Our goverment was set up with one idea in mind.....Trust No One Mr. Mulder!

They designed a government with such a series of check and balances because they didn't trust the president.

They wanted the comman man (yes, Man) to be able to have some say in his life, and there should be none of this business of the gov't sticking its nose where it doesn't belong.
