So tonight after I closed I was just getting ready to mop, when I looked down and on the floor in front of the counter I found a $20 bill. I kept it.....I consider it Asshole tax.
You would not believe the parade of fuckers the past few days.. FA KERS!
Seriously, yesterday this guy comes in during the 5 o'clock rush when I'm all alone on register and there's a line to the door. he tells me in a really rude manner that he apparently wasn't watching the price but the gallons, and well...shit he pumped $6 more than he had. ..as if he was giving me orders he tells me that he's going to leave and go get the money and come back. ....At this point I tell him politely that it is our policy that I can't leave the premise. And he asked how he's supposed to get the money, and I told him he had to call someone and have them bring it. ....and right then he takes his drivers license (which is in his hand...because clearly he was expecting me to just let him leave right?) ...He throws it at me and says, "FUCK YOU! ...I'm going to leave, Call the cops on me. And by the time they get here I'll be back with the money." ...now some how I managed to get him to stay and my manager worked it out.
But, Fuck. don't curse and throw things at me! When is that acceptable behavior?
Really, there should just be a button on my register for Asshole tax. If you're shitty to me I just say,...Well I think I'm gonna have to charge you asshole tax, and press the button and charge them an extra 3%. ...if people got fined for being an asshole then maybe people would treat people in customer service better.
And clearly this just be applied everywhere, restaurants, airplanes. ...Whatever....Now, this isn't a first amendment issue...you have a right to say mean hurtful things...whatever, but why can't we impose a fine for abusive behavior in a private establishment? ...this could fall under header of harassment.
And yeah, whos to be a judge of what's a fineable offense....well...I'm sure there are people who will abuse such a thing. but...maybe the 3% doesn't go in my pocket...maybe to charity...I think I'd just like to fine some of those fuckers regardless if I got the money. ....I'm sure there are extreme examples where it could be misused....but honestly if you've had to deal with shitty customers you know what I'm talking about. those extreme cases where people throw their id's at you!. ...And maybe fining someone isn't a way to "build a relationship" with them ...but neither is throwing your id. This whole customer is always right bullshit has to end....and we innocent customer service pawns need something fighting in our corner (hence why this should be in place everywhere)
anyway....I bought dinner with my asshole tax, and who knows what tomorrow.
