So I forgot to mention that I have 2 pieces in the Union show this year. Yea for me. (2 years ago I had 3) But last year the changed the submission format. It used to be that the professors selected work from their classes that they thought to be the best, and then they told you that "yea your piece will be in the show". Than you mat and frame it, knowing it is going to be in the show....

However, last year that changed it so it was a regular juried show, juried by the head of the permanent collection. And last year no one really knew what was up, or really liked the change or knew when deadlines were,....and by the time I found out when the deadline was, it was maybe 2 days away and I was preparing for my show....And the show in the Union wouldn't be opening till shortly after my show opened, so I decided not to waste my time with it.

However this year,...I submitted stuff. Though, I didn'g submit any of my drawings because I'm cheap and didn't want to waste the time and money on framing a drawing that might not even been in the show, and would eventually just be collecting dust in my studio. So I submitted my first acemblage (more of a mixed media piece, not a painting) and my Mahomet piece. ....I was convinced that neither would get in.

Both Did! Yea for me! ...And the show (for the most part) is really good! I was really impressed!...meaning, my pieces are among some really good pieces...meaning the jurier liked my pieces enough to put the with the others. ....And actually my acemblage looks really really good on the wall of the gallery! I mean, I like it and all, it looks cool, but when I saw in on the wall, the nice white background and the lighting made it look FANTASTIC! Yea! I'm happy.
