Yesterday (I think) Lulu wrote this entry, in which she detailed an interesting arguement for legalizing gay marriage.

Today at work, I brought it up at lunch. Now...I expected all sorts of reponses and rebutles. But....my Extremely Oober Christian manager said one I did not expect.

"That Still doesn't make it worth it".

When she said that I went into complete shock. I was dumbfounded. I couldn't speak. I had absolutely no response. I just wanted to hit her.

Out of all the possible reactions she has to pick the most absolutely closeminded unarguable point. It's Not worth allowing a gay couple to get married....even if it would boost the economy. What the fuck logic is that? It's not worth rescuing a society if that society is so morally corrupt to allow same sex marriage? There are so many other possible ways to revive the economy that it isn't worth legalizing gay marriage to do it?

it just makes me ill the GDUB wants to amend the constitution to outlaw it. What the fuck! The beauty of the (one of the) of the constitution is that it states clearly what we as a people are allowed to do. AND what the goverment can't do to us. We have the right to speak freely, to assemble, to practice whatever religion we choose, and how we choose to practice it. We have the right to NOT practice a religion. We have the right to bear arms. The gov't does NOT have the right to search our homes or our persons without probable cause (Mother fucking Patriot Act). (I truly believe that sobrity check points are against the constitution). The list goes on. But do we really want to add to that list, "You don't have the right to marry someone who is the same sex as you?" What's next? Sadomy? "You don't have a right to fuck someone in the ass, EVEN if they are of the opposite sex". or maybe even "For security purposes you do not have the right to protest in front of gov't buildings or at any public fuctions for that matter!"

We need to get that man out of the white house! I am voting Dem. in the next election. ...I think I just decided that. I am going to make the ignorate and uninformed decison to vote for whatever major party cannidate is running against Dub. there is a time is a time to play off suit and a time to play trump. this is not a time where voting off suit makes a statement. this is a time when trump has all the power. We need to Trump his Ace with the Left Bower.
