  Tom and KatieApril 29, 2005 9:07 p.m. Related Reading Okay, so this whole Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes thing. I was prepared to do this long entry defending the whole thing, when I just read Katie is saving herself for Marriage. What?!? Bad Katie. You should know better than that! ...Mad Props for you for not whoring yourself all over hollywood, but come on girl...live alittle!! See, the thing is....I was convinced that's what the relationship was!!! SEX!....just sex. Which really is fine. Think about it. Tom had one of the hottest women in the world...and got all paranoid and broke up with her just in time to keep his half of the marital assets. Then...Said Hot Woman has a string of Fantastic movie roles, that skyrocket her to the top of the A-list....without him! For so long she was know as this wannabe-serious actress that was the wife of Tom Cruise, but then with sudden suprise hit that was Moulin Rouge, She became beloved of all people who enjoyed that movie, we wanted to see her in other things! Hence the sudden popularity of The Others,...which really isn't a great film. Then with The Hours the next year and her oscar she suddenly became a bankable name for all sorts of films. She finally proved to the world she was a great actress (though, I think her oscar for The Hours was a make up award, she should have won for Moulin Rouge,....and I think Renee's oscar for Cold Mountain was a make up award for Chicago). ....And all her success came once tom had "kicked her to the curb". Now, what's going on with Tom's career? Well....he's taking a string of movies where he's trying to be an action star...but failing, he's trying to be a serious actor, and failing. On a whole the past few years, Tom has been in a serious slump. ...I don't care how good people say it is I'm not going to watch The last Sameri. So...he's basicly going though a serious midlife criss. Am I still attractive? Still desirable. Am I a has been? ...I'm sure when he's relationship with Miss Cruz fell apart he started really freaking out...so he had to go for someone younger and hotter to prove that he's still desirable. Now. As far as Katie is concerned....that chick just got out of a 5 year relationship with Chris Kline. 5 years!!! They were engaged!! Clearly, Tom is a rebound for her. and really....who better to rebound with than the guy whose face you would cut out of teenbeat when you were 12!! The last thing you want when you get out of a long term relationship is another long term relationship! So here I thought it was a case of 2 people agreeing to a hot casual affair! ...And really I was all for it! Quoting the Angelina in Girl, Interupted, "Fuck his brains out, use a rubber". |
