So B and I went and saw The Hours tonight. I have to say that this is the first film to ever get me in the emotional manner which this film got me. Hell, film, play, or book. I left the theater and sat in the bathroom for a bit crying. This never happens to me. ..I can be watching RENT with close friends as our own circle of friends is ripping apart...everyone around me crying their eyes out. ...Not me. But this one got me.

Over all the performances were amazing. The biggest surpirse of all was the incredibly moving and underated performance of Ed Harris. I love that man.

He was just incredible, and I didn't even know he was in it.

Now what was it got me? Well Meryl Streep's charactor is me. I mean she is, straight up. and B is a combination of Nicole Kidman and Ed Harris' charactors.

Streep's and Harris' relationship is almost identical to that of mine and B's (not specific instances but just the way the value one another and treat one another), and the issues that the 2 of them are dealing with are very very, frightningly similar to issues I have with him, and because the situation hit so close to home that it caused me to cry. I was upset about it for a good while after the movie ended.

This is a beautiful dramatic film with great performances. If you're into that, it's a must see.
