So Becky and I had storytime last night.

Really that is just one of the most fantastic ways to read a book.

It all started with Dragonlance. When I got to the finally book of the Souls Trilogy (Dragons of a Vanished Moon) it had not come out in paperback yet,...and I couldn't afford the hardback, which Bri had. ...He wouldn't let me take it out of the house. So upon occasion I'd be over at his house, or perhaps he'd bring it to the studio, and he would read it to me. ...And we've did the same with other books...sometimes with an audience of 4. Really great fun. So nice to just lay back and imagine the story has in unfolds. Plus it's such an enjoy able way to spend time with someone else.

(Mike, my bed, Harry Potter?)

So I've been reading this favorite book of Becky's called Sabriel ..and it is really good. if you like harry potter, dragonlance...etc... you gotta check out this book! So last night I was in the mood to read, but after a lengthy battle with my contacts my eyes were sore and tired, and I really couldn't read, so I asked Becky if she would read to me,..and she agreed. So we got into my bed and she read to me..and then after a few chapters we whiched and I read, and then she again.

It's so great because you have someone to react with! when you are reading by yourself and you get to a brillent passage you want to tell everyone about it...or if there is a part that makes you laugh you want to share it...or a cute sweet moment, ..it's nice to be able to pause and laugh with someone or..."awwww' and something cute.

Storytime is so lovely and somehow we as adults lost touch with the concept. We read our serious books by ourselves with our cup of coffee, detatached from the rest of the world. When did we forget how wonderful it is to share a book with someone?
