  The Steve Miller BandJanuary 22, 2004 5:05 p.m. Related Reading I’d like to start this off by stating that I really detest Classic Rock. I mean really detest classic rock. Now I respect such bands as Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Pink Floyd but I just can’t stand to listen to them. (some songs I can tolerate) . And to top it all off my radio is set to a Classic Rock station so I can listen to Bob and Tom in the mornings (based in Indiana!) but when I set my alarm on a weekend I could get stuck waking up to the horrible that is AC/DC. Why this band has fans I won’t even pretend to know. But …..(the huge resounding but of this entry) I LOVE Steve Miller Band. I mean I seriously love Steve Miller! I mean…I know I’m coming dangerously close to losing cool points for this one (Like I did with my review of American Pie 2). My infatuation with all that is Miller started a year or 2…maybe 3…ago. My friend would play the guitar outside…play all these songs and everyone would just sit around and sing them (yea for college). One of the songs he would play a lot was Joker. And I really started to dig that song. So that summer I found my parents SMB greatest hits cd and started listening to it and discovered that there were a lot of songs on it that I really liked and didn’t even realize that it was Steve Miller Band. I burned that cd from my parents twice. I either wore out my first copy or some how it got ruined....or maybe stolen…I think that’s it. Anyway…I spent all last summer rocking out to that cd. And recently when he released the new greatest hits cd I was thinking about buying it…..and then when I saw it on sale for $9.99 I Had to buy it. And seriously…I Love This Album! I play it all the time. One cool thing is the lady I sit near at work loves the miller to, so when I play it I usually crank it up a bit so she can hear and we just sit here and rock out to the Miller! I mean, Steve Miller is roll down the windows and play loud music. Oh…and I’m convinced that Steve Miller would be very good in bed. I mean…if you move your body to some of those riffs……and think that’s what’s in his head! That’s his internal rhythm! Mmmm yummy. |
