![]() Stalking Stuart SaygerJuly 15, 2004 9:38 p.m. Related Reading In the continuing saga of my current obcession with the artist that created Shiver in the Dark..... I have been continplating going to a convention and meeting him, seeing the assortment of items only available at a convention....getting the scoop on the new issue coming out this month (YEA!!!) But I discovered that...comic conventions are pretty darn expensive! There is one in chicago and the one day ticket costs $25. ..EEK...especially since I am broke. ...Also I would take the train because I am deathly afraid of driving in that town. ...and that of course means more money. but...this convention has a stellar collection of guests...specificly Jay and Slient Bob. Now there's one in Indy, which is of course much closer and I would drive,...but that's gas money, and parking! ...not to mention that a day ticket for that one would be $27 dollars. Now....here's where it gets interesting. I was in one of my local comics stores today and asked the handy dandy comic counter dork about it. He told me that the only reason they had copies was because the artist brought them in. ...I knew this already...that the shiver artist had been there, and signed autographs and that he was based in Indy. .....But what I learned today (Insert Dr. Evil pinky placement) that Mr. Stuart Sayger works at a comic store in BroadRipple. ...and since I need go to a gallery in that area.....I'm thinkin' a road trip is gonna need to happen. Start off by dropping my portfolio off at this one gallery, swinging by New Age People, this fantastic store that has everything from books on all kinds of religions, to herbs, to candles, to jewelry, much yea for this store! and then head on over to Broadripple and get some comics and a beer. ....Take the Becky and the Carrie. ...sounds like a fantastic day to me. though, I just realized that it would suck to get there and find out he wasn't working that day. ..Becky suggested that I email him and find out when his working and see if I can come in for fun-tastic groupie fun. ....but....how does one write such an email? I can't even think of how to begin. |
