ShiversSeptember 01, 2004 3:19 a.m. Related Reading So today I went to the dork store and spent way too much money...buying 5 comics and of course the plastic to store them in. It's such a vicious cycle...this whole comic thing....You find a book you like, and want to read more...but that's okay because it's only 3-4 dollars.....but then you get curious about another...and end up have to get the one you already liked and then the next one in the new series....and then you find another ...and the pattern repeats. And see....as of now....I own 17 Mystiques. SEVENTEEN!!!!. If they are each ....say $3.....how much is that total I've spent on just that book alone? See, vicious cycle. BUT when I got up to the counter (holding my 4 comics of intent) I asked the nice lady who owns the store (she's awesome! She knows her shit and she's always there.....plus she's relatively young, maybe in her 30's if that.) about Shiver in the Dark (knowing that the new one supposedly came out..but I've yet to see it) (I took in issue 2 last fall and showed it to her and asked her if she knew of it...or had any information on a possible next issue).....And she said she hadn't forgotten that I had asked her about it last fall......And in fact found one...And she got it for me.....And she went to the back to retrieve it!!!!!!!!! I was so excited my hands were shaking! I couldn't actually believe that the day had finally arrived that I would have the new Shiver in the Dark......the only disappointing part was the fact that it ended. ....It ended....and now I just have to keep reading it over and over for the next year waiting for the next one to come out. But really, It's sooo beautiful! It is still proving to be just as elegant and orginal and post modern as the previous......Really I just love it. I think I'm going to read it a few more times and then email the artist my compliments and apprecation....and also how I came across this issue.....since he is doing the marketing and the production all himself....I think he would like to know. |
