![]() SecretaryMay 07, 2003 2:47 a.m. Related Reading ![]() I just watched the film "Secretary". My enjoyment of this film tells me I need to get back in my habit of reading the New York Times. I read about this flim back when it came out and was getting really good reviews. It just read like a film I needed to see. So when I popped by blockbuster tonight, I rented it. This film was made for 2 types of people. Us S&M fans and those people who don't understand us, but chances are that the second group will turn the movie off long before the end...or simply won't watch it. This film shows SM as being more than just people wanting to hurt one another. Just because someone inflicts pain on another does not mean that that person doesn't care. This film was absolutly beauiful in my mind. A beauiful love story. I really enjoyed the depth of the charactors, specificly Mr. Grey. Because the film is from the woman's point of view, (most of the time) the only things we know about him are the things we see of him, and the things he says, and the things we can read about him, the depths, are just incredible. This film is shocking, dramatic, emotional, and beautiful at the sametime. Check my profile. It just made it to my list of favorite movies, knocking out the Boondock Saints. (which should say a lot). Note, this film isn't for everyone. Again, I said it is for us and the people who cannot fatham what it is to be us. I watched it with B, he didn't seem as impressed with it as I was. I personally plan on owning it and watching it again before I take it back tomorrow. As I was leaving B kept asking what I liked about it so much, and I kept saying that I wasn't sure, or didn't know. I can't decide if that was true at the time, or I wasn't confident enough with my sexuality, or comfortable enough with my sexuality for him to know that much about me. I knows I like that kinda of thing...but... This film show'ed me that I'm not a freak.....I just like a different kind of wine that most people. Eat a different kind of chips, perfer chips and salsa to potato. And say what you will, but I have no desire to the the kind of wife who lays hidden under the covers in the dark waiting for her husband to come and take what he wants from her. ~laughs~ unless that's what I want to do at that time, and only if I'm enjoying it. |
