Okay, so I just read

It is the biggest load of BULLSHIT I have ever read in my life. If the Right thinks this is what we were doing, or why we were upset then they are a lot more closed minded then I ever gave them credit for being.

I was yelling aloud as I read it,...and thus I figured I really needed to type a response.

I have never called republicans nazi's or bigots. There appears to be a reoccurring theme with the Right thinking we on the left are insulting them, ...We are...but not in the ways which they think. Consistently people on the right keep attacking us for calling them names. Ya know what? You've been calling us names for longer. It started with Reagan who started to teach the country that it was a bad thing to be a "Liberal", it became this big horrible word...and if anyone is remotely "liberal" they are bad. Consistently the Right has been very vocal about trying to silence our opinions because they disagree with them. An artist makes a statement about Religion by using urine or dung and the country is an uproar, funding pulled. Artists attacked and freedom of speech trampled. We raise concern with how we feel that having “God” in the pledge of allegiance is against the notion of freedom of religion and the separation of church and state. ...We speak up just a little and they roar back with a vengeance. (*side note: do you understand that the pledge of allegiance is the biggest piece of propaganda bullshit we have ever been sold? We are brainwashed into compliance as early as childhood.) The reason we are angry with you is because you have been doing this to us for how long? Liberals! Queers! Art Fag! Fem-a-Nazi! Liberal Bitch! Whore! Pot Head! Atheist! Witch!

In this letter the writer attacks the Left and tells us that we don’t support the troops. This is Entirely Incorrect! Someone on the Bush campaign must have started spreading the word (along with saying that we insult the right) says that we don’t support the troops. This is 100% incorrect! We DO support the troops. Unlike what happened with Vietnam where people confused the troops fighting the war with the war itself, we understand and support the troops! I have a number of friends in the military!!! And the thing about insulting those people protecting me…Look. We are NOT protecting the country by attacking a sovereign nation that our spoiled brat of a president has a grudge against because its leader threatened his “Daddy”.

After 9/11 action was called for, And action was taken! Our act of attacking Afghanistan WAS justified! But our attack on Iraq wasn’t. Our solders in Afghanistan were acting in defense of the country! But this Iraqi war is BULLSHIT! This war is doing more to cause terrorist attack on the country than it is doing to prevent them.

In this letter the writer asks if I want to be the one to tell the parents that their child died needlessly and without reason. …No I don’t. I don’t want to be that person. You know who should have to be that person? George Bush! I think he should have to call each and every parent and tell them that their child is dead and tell them why exactly they needed to die. I read in book The Case for Christ, and I found the Circumstantial evidence to be the most convincing. One thing the author pointed out is that no one will willingly die for a lie. No one wants to believe that their son or daughter died because the Bush family wanted more oil, they want to think that they died valiantly defending this country from terrorists.

Now….don’t think I’m calling the republicans nazis….or even our troops. …

But we NEED to learn from our History. We look back on Nazi Germany as this Horrible thing. And it was. …And we tend to compartment every involved into the same crate of Evil. But Honestly, those solders….they thought they were doing the right thing. They were told by their leader that there was this great threat. They were told that the if Germany were to grow out of the slump they were in things needed to change…and this certain group of people was to blame for the problems the country was having. *Note: Patriotism is a good thing, Nationalism is a Bad thing. Hitler used the extreme Nationalism in the country at the time to come to power and to manipulate the people! They didn’t ask question, they just thought that he knew what was best. The solders followed orders. They thought they were doing what was best. They were defending German ideals. Germany, the country they believed to believed to be the greatest in the world! The solders weren’t evil. they were young men doing what they thought was the best for their country.

Can’t we learn from their mistakes? Can’t we question a president that takes his eyes off the enemy who killed how many of our citizens and instead decided to attack another country? I don’t believe this man should be given another chance! He has already fucked things up! The letter says that the Left treated the solders like Mindless Pawns. And we tried to elect a man who had betrayed them. HELLO!!!! GEORGE BUSH BETRAYED THEM TIME AND AGAIN! He sent them into a war UNPREPARED! Against the Wrong Enemy. The didn’t have an exit strategy. John Kerry WAS a solder! He fought. How is can he be worse than a man who shames their service by dodging the draft and avoiding his National guard position?

The Right likes to say that John Kerry voted for the war and against the troops by not voting for certain armor and weapons. This is wrong. John Kerry wanted all the troops to be equip, he Just didn’t want to see another No Bid Contract to Halliburton! How many times to we have to say it!!!

My Kerry/Edwards sign is still in my car. I have no plans to remove it anytime soon. the Right might not like it, think I’m being smudge and arrogant. I am defiantly sticking to my position. That has become a symbol to me. It is a symbol of the fact that I refuse to be complacent. That I refuse to just accept things just because the country is brainwashed by fear. That I don’t trust George Bush as far as I could throw him. My side might have lost. But the doesn’t mean that I succumb to the views of the other or even remotely agree with them. No. This is a divided nation. But I refuse to take a step to the middle when people still rally around this ridiculous mockery of leadership! When people start really acknowledging how absurd it is to have this man in power….then I’ll talk with you. George Bush need to admit he was wrong. TONY BLAIR DID! Blair admitted to the people that the war was a bad idea, that he was wrong AND APPLOGIZED! Bush would gain some respect from me if he would do this……but somehow, for some reason, I find that unlikely.
