 Movies not to see.September 29, 2002 8:20 p.m. Related Reading Hmmm there is an assortment of things I could, and should write about tonight. Well for one, one of these days I need to make a lists of movies to avoid seeing at all costs. Two of those being: The Man Who Cried, and The Shipping News. Again, no matter what someone tells you, no matter what they do to try and convince you, I repeat, do not see these movies. ...Well, maybe a few parts of the man who cried, but DEFINATELY NOT the Shipping News. One would think the Shipping News to be a good film simply by the nature of it's cast: Kevin Spacey, Juliane Moore. Cate Blanchet, Judy Dench...but I repeat, do not see it. It is a film full of rediculously pointless facts and scenes, as well as dumb people. Watching it you don't not care for any of these people, all you want is for the movie to end. Now the Man who cried on the other hand has Christina Rieci, Johnny Depp, Cate Blanchet, and the guy who played Jesus in the Big Lebouski<--sp?. While the movie is really pretty, there is some nice cimamotography, and some really nice shots. ....And a really hot (but way to brief) sexual incounter between Depp and Rici that should get your pulse racing... There is NO POINT to the story. ...There is about 2 hours of unnessicary back story. And the movie box and trailer deceive one in to actually believe Johnny Depp actually has a part. ...he maybe speaks 20 words in the whole film. ...15 of those are show in the Trailer and the o ther five being numbers as he counts. ...I mean, there are more shots of his freaking white horse than there are of him! ...the white horse pissed B off...I told him that it was the whole fairy tale of prince charming riding a white horse. |
