Moore Propaganda

I have always had issues with Michael Moore....long before it became cool to mock him. (I was forced to watch Roger and Me in my econ class right after my mom lost her job. It depressed and scared the hell out of me.) I personally think Moore's Liberal views are no different in their extremity than those views of the conservatives the criticizes. It almost seems to me that the issues seem just as black and white to him as they do to the conservatives. In reality things are so gray.

It is great to have opinions! And I'm glad we have the right to express them, but with Moore he is sooo opinionated that he can't seem to see the fallacies in his arguments.

Now....I do have every intention of seeing the film, but I am just sooo annoyed with the current situation.

First off. I have had a distaste in my mouth ever since the news started broadcasting that it had been banned. I got home from work and turned on CNN and every half hour program for at least 2 hours spent the first 10-15 minutes discussing how Michael Moore's new film had been banned. This was such a publicity stunt! What I immediately think of is the scandal surrounding the Sensation show.

The Brooklyn Museum, this tiny little gallery which has a select audience, and a small audience. ...But the horrible Mayor had to go and close the exhibit because of one piece being offensive. When that broke in the news....people flew from all over the country to see that show. It became one of the most viewed shows ever. ...all because it was banned. People get it in their head....well you don't want me to see it...so I will.

Now the thing with the film is that it's propaganda. It is. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. The purpose of the film is to make sure that Bush is not re-elected. ....Now I would exhaust every breath in my lungs if it kept Bush from being re-elected. And people need to know that Moore is the same way. He is going to say and do...and show...and edit in an attempt to remove Bush from office. He is only going to show those things which support his position.

Whether or not I agree with the position of the film is irrelevant. I am against anyone taking what they are spoon fed. I don't care if the person who is holding the spoon is liberal or conservative. People need to look at all of the issues and make up their minds....and not give something more weight than it deserves. Moore is picking images to enrage you! ...words, images, people, places...all that. He's doing it on purpose! He knows what he's doing! He wants you to riot...and question ...vote. And I agree, everyone should vote. But he is doing all he can to get you to vote the way he wants you too.

I guess what I'm saying is ....when/if you see this ...make sure you look at it and really understand how he is trying to manipulate your way of thinking...because he is.

And the thing that is really annoying about all this is the propaganda is working the same way as the Bush propaganda. When the war started the administration used propaganda ....and prostituted Nationalism (thank you OTEP) in a way that said, "If you speak out against Bush...the administration or the war you are un-American....you're a terrorist". .....

Now....if you're not one of those people who are jumping on the whole Michael Moore bandwagon...without seeing the movie or thinking about the issues or the man first....You're considered un-Liberal .....or even Pro Bush.

What is that? It's bullshit! It's hypocrisy. Ugh. Am I the only one who sees this?
