[From Latin mendcium, lie, from mendx, mendc-, mendacious.] -------------------------------------- Now admittedly I am only familier with this man because of his appearences on Real Time with Bill Maher, but I am entirely in awe of him, and I think I'm going to get his new book. Now...I know I need a new book like I need another pair of knee high boots,...but grrr I want it! And thing thing about him....he's soo professorly! I mean, he looks like a professor! he speaks like one! So many people out there use these big words to make them selves seem smarter than they are (in other words, pretentious. I did an entry where I defined that word...but I can't find it...go look it up for yourself). but he uses these words because he knows what they mean...he really is seriously smart..and that's just how he speaks! I want to be like that! And I want to learn these words by reading,...and what's a better places than one of his books? ...which of course I will have to read with a dictionary right next to me for every other word...but really, I wouldn't have it any other way. |
