| My Madonna Theory. August 28, 2002 3:46 p.m. Related Reading Okay, so I've had this entry existing in my head for a good while, and now I finally have the time to write it, atleast I'm deciding to make the time. In the film True Lies Tom Arnold makes a comment that the role models for todays kids are (were) Axel Rose and Madonna. Now, this is said in a way to imply that it is bad, however, I starting thinking that it is in fact true, ...atleast the Madonna part. Madonna really is the role model for girls since she came on the scene. Madonna taught us that it is possible to be georgeous as well as intelligent as well as independent. The we could do anything thing we want, have who ever we want, and never settle for less. She taught us that it was okay to acknowlege that we are sexual beings at that we too can enjoy sex. She truly taught us that we can have it all, and not settle. Or atleast so we think. Women have learned that we can be all these things, but some of us still want to share our lives with someone else (as Madonna has always desired, and hopefully finally achieved.)...However, that is my point. The ideal of alot of modern women is to have all the charactoristics of Madonna, and (when she wants him) to have a man by her side. However, We girls don't seem to take into consideration that being a woman like t his is rather intemidating, and by being picky, and not settling for less that you deserve, we end up alone most of the time. ...What got me thinking on this subject is that Madonna has this song on her Ray of Light cd, entitled Mer girl. It contains the lyrics "I ran,..... from the man that I can not keep." ..and that's what got me thinking. I mean, what hope does that give us? I mean, she EFFING MADONNA and has a noted history of relationships that don't work out for whatever reason or another. Now I don't really have a point to this, it's just my own personal continous analization of why I'm single. Though I saw the guy I sing Inside Out with the other day. He was in the car with a friend of his, and his friend stopped the car at the stop sign and got out and called C and I over and programmed our numbers it to his phone. So we'll see. There is also a guy in my scuplture class who isn't bad looking, and I think he's a pretty good artist, and he's smart, so we'll see about that too. |
