So I watched The Way of the Gun.

I was HIGHLY disappointed by this film.

I had heard so many good things from people. One of my especially good friends who shares my movie taste absolutely loved it.

I didn't.

Generally the first half hour was good. The first hour of the wasn't bad. but after that it all just went down hill.

Over all the performances were good, but the script wasn't worthy of their talents.

Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro are the only reasons (aside from maybe the directing and editing) to watch this film. They both give amazing and believeable performances. The two have a very good onscreen chemistry that that is the most enjoyable thing to watch. I was intrawled by their ablity to play off of one another's actions, speaking little, and move together as a unit. They also are the only sense of comic relief in the film, and that is underused.

Both actors showcase their talents in notable monologues, specificly while they are in a sperm bank.

I believe the best part of the film (aside from the editing and directing, setting up for and editing all the actions sequences had to be insane, and having it be so successful is an achievement.) ...is the monologue that Ryan Phillippe gives telling the story of the lawyer to whom he owed a favor. That story is the most emotionally moving part of the entire film. ...It also seems to be the sincereist moment of the film.

Over all, the story is incredibly predictable.

Juliette Lewis is Pregant, again. Holding a gun, again. ....after while I just couldn't care for her charactor anymore.

Taye Diggs, with more post-RENT success, is highly underused. I would have enjoyed seeing more interaction between he and the bosses wife, an underused storyline.

By the end there was nothing left to care about. There is a long scene of gun fire and people getting shot and dodging bullets. Again, good editing and directing, but what does that matter if you don't care to watch anymore?

I also say this is one of the most violent films I've watched. It contains some of the most painful images I've seen on screen...and giving the films I watch, that is saying alot! The violence of American Psycho or Fight Club didn't bother,...but there were 2 specific parts in this film where the idea of the what was happening was so painful that I couldn't bear to watch, and had to look away. One of these I felt was rather unnessicarly. I can only think it was used to make the viewer believe, force the viewer to believe that the two 'heros' were incredibly bad guys. Personally, could have done without it.

So over all, if you like westerns, shooting, and guns ...see the movie. If you're a fan of Ryan Phillippe and Benicio Del Toro, see the movie. ..but aside from that, ...you might want to refrain.

and I have a job interview tomorrow at 12pm. that's right, a job interview at the coffee house B and C both work...and B's housemate, and B's ex-house mate who he hates....ah the list goes on. ..yeah when I was filling out my application there is a spot that ask for who refered me, I asked One of the managers I know, (yes I know 2 of them) who I should pick. she suggested B.

Yeah, he went home for the weekend, and called yesterday sometime, called at 12pm today, and again around 9:30. I missed them the first time. the second 2 I talked with him...it was him mainly inquireing on how my job search was going.
