| Can I pull of a 'hang in there, baby" tee? April 20, 2008 12:23 p.m. Related Reading So I did promise more light hearted posts. I went Goodwill shopping yesterday. It is always such and interesting thing and sometimes you find absolute nothing and others quite a bit. They past few times I've found a lot of wonderful things. I time I found 3 very good stretched canvases. The did have something on them but they will be so ridiculous they modifiable it's awesome! Yesterday I was very successful on the the clothes side. I keep thinking of the episode of Sex and the City when we see Carrie rummaging though a thrift store and makes the comment, "Do you think I can pull of a 'hang in the baby' tee? (Maranida response with, "I don't think anyone can pull off a 'hang in there baby tee". That has now become my question regarding any of my finds. If I'm not sure I pull it out and ask someone if I can pull off a hang in there baby tee. I think it's funny. maybe you just have to be there. One of my yesterday finds was a shirt I think I had tried on before and I decided that I didn't think I could pull it off. but really I think it's awesome. I love to shop in the little boy shirts section. I've found some really awesome things here. One time I was in a little thrift store that was a part of this little mid western overstock outlet, kinda like a tiny village of stores, New Toto Stores. I found this child's Walter Payton jersey. it really is hot! Seriously! It's one of my most favorite items. I confess I don't really know who he is. I just liked the jersey. I was wearing it out at a coffee shop once and someone wanted to buy it from me. But I really just love it. Last year when the Bears were in the Super Bowl with the Colts (Yea Colts!) were allowed to dress (nicely) in bears or colts attire at work. I wore my jersey over a white dress shirt and it looked so fucking hot! Anyway. I love to shop in the little boys section. Yesterday I found a dark green t-shirt with white sleeves sewn into it. On the front it has a picture of (what I perceive to be ) Death in sneakers riding a skate board. Down the side of one of the arms is a bit of fence with a skull and cross bones. I think it is so funny and cute it's awesome! And everyone I was there with thinks it's awesome. Part of me gets a laugh at the thought of what Stacy and Clinton might think of it. But I like finding funny, casual pieces like this and dressing them up with accessories and making them look kinda rock and roll. I'm at artist goddamnit! Were supposed to dress in bold, funky, unconventional attire. It shows are creativity! Anyway way I do have other good news to write about. I really want to try and write about fun and light hearted things I'm excited about. Keeping this only to vent depressing things kinda puts me out. |
