 The Power of FearNovember 30, 2004 2:44 p.m. Related Reading Ugh, why am I wake instead of sleeping? I think I might go back after I type this. A bit ago when my alarm when off I heard a 30 second news update before hitting the snooze alarm. It reported that there had been a large number of gas stations and convenant stores were robbed last night. I forget the number, but it was a lot. Then they told about a kid at a local kid who took a knife to school and slashed several students because because God told him to do it because they were sinners. I think there was something else but I can't remember. The point is that every thing in that 30 second was local violance. that report was meant to scare me! We are all being brainwashed into being afraid, controlled by a goverment and our media. And why shouldn't they keep us afraid? There are so many bennifits to a frightened population. they come out in vast numbers and vote for a spoiled brat of a man who they think his cowboy ways well protect them. This fear put that man back in power and he is using his power to his friends and contributors more power and money!...and they are buying up more media coporations....And together they are keeping us afraid! Machiavelli wrote, when speaking of wielding and maintaining political power, "...one ought to be both feared and loved, but as it is difficult for the two to go together, it is much safer to be feared than loved, if one of the two has to be wanting". Clearly no one in the Bush Administration has read Machiavelli. ...The phrase, "The end justifies the means" doesn't ring any bells what so ever. Ugh "I'm just going to go to bed and wake up when there's a new president". |
