My head is kinda all over the place right now. But, I think I'll write the entry I was intending to write last night.
So, late me state again for those who aren't aware, I've been seriously looking into Wicca. I do have the one book that is sort of an all encompassing but I am interested in looking into more things.
So, while I was in Borders the other day I decided browse some Wiccan books.
Now. Wicca is a religion. It is a very serious religon that has been around for a very long time, it is just one religon that is an off shoot of Paganism.
Yet, if you wanted to look for books on Wicca (at Borders) would you find them in the religon section? No. Which is kind of crazy to me. the religon section had all sorts of Christian books/Catholic books. they had had all sorts of books on "Eastern" religions. Hinduism, Buddism, etc. All of these were in the religion section. But if you wanted to find Wiccan books you had to go a few sections away, past science and philosophy, into a section with mythology and Meta physicals. The side discription had something like "mythology, Meta physics, Magic, and Tarot. It's a bit insulting.
it's little things like that that makes me realize how ingrained in our minds and culture. ...really how something that goes against the norm is so discredited even in a place that caters to the educated individual.
I fucking hate living in a red state.
